Better late than NEVER!!

So, I made the mistake of getting Tanner a 16" bike when he turned 4. YES, that is almost 2 years ago. We never really lived on a street that was "bike" worthy, so he never got much practice. A few months ago we decided to make an effort to get the kids out on bikes more and then he'd be comfortable enough to take the training wheels off at least before he turned six!

Only one thing was missing....confidence! The whole thing just freaked him out and he didn't seem to care that all these 4 yr olds around him could do it. So we made a deal. I told him I'd go buy "Payton" (yes, Kam has a 16" also) a 12 inch bike and he could learn on that one! He was ALL for it. He didn't care if it was purple and pink, it was smaller and that was all that mattered.

Of course he took right off on it with no problem at all:

After about 15 mins of riding around we brought out his bike, and sure enough, NO problem. He even started by himself and never needed pushed off.

We tried to see how Kamryn would do, and I think we'll give it a few more months!

Happy Birthday Kamryn!

4 yrs old! Boy was she ready to be four-that's for sure! She had a fun filled day, and she KNEW it was her special day and was little miss sassy! If you forgot to give her a call, then don't sweat it....she refused to give anyone the time of day that called to wish her a happy birthday. She got a lecture after the first phone call and so when grandpa called, he at least got a very unenthusiastic...."hi....thanks....bye"...and she hung up. That afternoon she had her first real birthday party and it was so much fun to see her enjoy having her friends come over for a little party.

Everything went great at her check up and she got 5 nasty shots! She didn't even shed a tear. (I mean if you don't count the SCREAMING - NNNNOOOOO! at the top of her lungs as the nurse and I pinned her to the table!) But once she sat up, she gave the nurses a "HUH!" sound along with THE look and all, and then she was good to go!

41 lbs - 85% (fyi-don't tell skinny man, but that's 2 lbs more than Tanner was at his FIVE year appt)

42.5 inches tall - 96%

In January-

While clearing off my camera card I found some pictures I forgot about. In January Tanner got to see both his BOY cousins. The poor guy is surrounded by girls. He does have two boy cousins his age, one in Idaho, and one in Utah. He considers them his best friends.

Case got to stay with us while his parents were in Hawaii, and they were in heaven. Case was even a huge helper for me when Tanner was at school. He would come up to me and ask me what JOB he could do for me! (His mom raises him WELL!!) I usually had no problem taking him up on the offer though!

(don't mind Kamryn sporting the leggings with no skirt in the background...)

A few days after Case left JD came to town. They also had a great time together and JD got to spend the night one night. They had matching DINO's by chance and thought that was the coolest thing ever!

(I love how Tanner changed his dino into a pair of his undies before bedtime)

???

Payton is slowly but surely making the transition to Kamryn's room....She messes around ans has yet to "go" to bed int here, but she seems to find her way over sometime in the night and has been waking up in her bed in that room! Anyway, it got me thinking about starting to work on the nursery. When Tanner was born I had MADE my own bedding with my high tech skills, and needless to say-it didn't really last. (for example the crib skirt was made out of an old sheet I found in my mother in laws lined closet)

So I decided today to start looking for bedding and that it'd be fun to do the nursery in brown and green. Just for a change since Tanner's room is so blue. As I searched online I was highly disappointed in the selection!! Not only for these colors, but I hardly even found ANY bedding I would settle for....This was one of my favorites....AND the ONLY one I'd go for in these colors. What do you think? Is it too girly/frilly?? Or does that not count with a baby? Should I keep looking???

If I keep looking, any suggestions on where to look??
