Today was Tanner's last race. We picked him up from school and hurried over to the school that the race was at a few miles away. To try and motivate him we talked about his "goal." I asked him if he thought he could beat his record and come in in the one hundreds. He wasn't too sure, but he said, "I know i can beat 237!" (his place last time) HE DID IT! (well, for the record, last time there was 5 schools, this time THREE! Only approx 170 runners total) Anyway, Dad still can't figure out how his little boy could possibly not have ONE single competitive bone in his body. At least he enjoys it-he's just SUCH a laid back, easy going kid.
Well, here's a quick 24 hr recap.... Yesterday at 4:30pm I took Blake into the doc and he had TWO ear infections....Got some meds in him and he slept SO good...
BUT...
the girls were crying ALL night! I really think last night goes down as the worst night of sleep so far for me as a mom (and for dad too). When one wasn't crying the other one was. I do remember getting a two hour stretch from 2:40-4:40 at least. And I think this was when their 1:30 am dose of Motrin kicked in) Plus I made the girls go sleep in my closet with the door shut! -then they felt happy that they were in "Mom's" room, but I could still sleep through the crying. They literally cried in their sleep without waking up-it was SO sad. And Mom holding them or scratching their back, etc didn't help console them one bit-so closet it was! But after a quiet 2 hours they were back to crying every 20-40 mins for 20-40 mins...off and on.
So, back to the doctors we went....saw the same one I did 18 hrs previously with Blake, and sure enough, Payton has both ears infected and Kamryn has one really bad one! So random huh.....but with a fridge full of antibiotics, I am SO looking forward to sleeping good tonight!
The boys came inside today and asked me if I could go play soccer with them. We had so much fun! Mark and McKenzie we're in town also and played with us. It was a chilly day outside, so Blake had to stay inside and watch the fun through the window!
We took the kids to Disneyland a few years ago, and I promised them we'd be back again when Payton (who was a baby) was 40 inches tall, because Mom and Dad are too selfish to sit out with a tiny one for the fun rides! So, we met up with SEVEN other families from our neighborhood and had SO much fun! In all I think we had 13 adults and 18 kids there on Monday with us. We didn't all stick together 100% of the time, but still remained in large sums throughout the day. Rachel and my Mom helped with Blake so we could leave him in AZ. He has WAY more fun getting extra attention and being an only child than he could have ever had at Disneyland. He'll get his turn....as soon as he's 40 inches tall-we'll be back! Anyway, here's my fav pics from the trip!
ONLY PAYTON KNOWS!
This is a long story that I'm not in the mood to blog about, but I have to get on paper(for the record) soon, so maybe I'll come back and add it later. But to sum it up...the hinge broke yesterday afternoon, and this evening as Payton opened the fridge, it came crashing down on top of her. We have had a work order in to DACOR since October....a guy came out last week and apparently fixed the WRONG PART! He mention on his way out that he will be back in 4-5 days with some random part and he'll bring a new hinge and replace it "just in case" WELL Too LATE for THAT!
When I got there she was just slivering out between the mustard and the cool whip....
After she literally stopped SHAKING, she has been fine since. A friend was at Urgent Care and there was an hour and a half wait, at bedtime might I add, so I'll take her to her doctor in the morning to make sure she's as fine as she seems to be. She just appears to have a bruise on her right shoulder, back, left forearm, right wrist, and left shin.
Oh yeah, Kamryn was there too, and said it hit her head and arm a little bit as it fell also. She too seems fine. I never found a bump, so I'm not too worried, but we'll see what tomorrow brings.
On a lighter note....if you are wondering where MOM was when this happened.....well, after I heard a incredibly LOUD noise followed by two girls SCREAMING, I showed up with my pants at my ankles (note the TP on the counter that was in my hands as I ran in) haha, probably too much info, but it's funny when I think back to how that must have looked if I could replay it.
